Description:
ATCO Frontec is seeking a Project Manager to join our NorthwesTel project team in Whitehorse, YT. The Project Manager is responsible for the management of a power infrastructure maintenance program across the three territories, Northern BC, and Northern Alberta to ensure all the work defined in the contract is completed on or ahead of schedule.

The Project Manager is the single point of contact and accountable to the client for the performance of work, contract deliverables, staff and subcontractors employed and engaged on this project; contract amendments; quality control; occupational health and safety; spill response and reporting; emergency response as requested by the client; and financial controls and reporting.

Regular travel is required for this role.

Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and direction to staff for work as defined in contract documents.
Ensure all deliverable reports and plans are submitted on time, in correct format, complete and accurate.
Implement a Quality Control Program to monitor and ensure contract service level standards are being consistently met.
Actively seek out opportunities for organic business growth.
Can effectively manage a geographically dispersed workforce at multiple sites ensuring consistent delivery of service in accordance with contract standards.
Maintain records on " above and beyond" performance and out of scope services provided to the client and remind the client of the excellent service delivery ATCO provides.
Create and maintain a healthy rapport with client staff (at all levels) including institute building representatives through regular routine formal and informal briefings on project status.
Identify changes in scope and forward request to client for change orders and/or proposals to increase/decrease contract scope and the contract fee as required.
Review and approve all material and project proposals, ensure that estimates are adequate, complete and well documented with itemized detail and subcontractor quotes as required.
Ensure the implementation of the firm fixed price work is completed on schedule aligning with the contract documents and both provincial and federal regulations and to the satisfaction of the client.
Review all open work orders, repairs, time/material and projects weekly and take action or direct action to complete work and close work orders in a timely manner in accordance with the service level standards (timeframes) provided in the contract documents.
Complete the Annual Business Plan, monthly review and analyze variance report, identify areas of high cost and implement corrective action and controls.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Technical School Diploma or University degree from a recognized accredited institution or a combination of a related Trade Certificate and experience.
Project Management Professional (PMP), Canadian Construction Association Gold Seal, BOMA RPA or FMA would be considered an asset.
Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising personnel in an infrastructure, industrial maintenance and/ or construction environment.
Experienced in project management, project estimating, pricing and budget/planning and business accounting standards of practice.
Previous experience with emergency response, including hazardous materials response, containment and clean-up.
Knowledge of Environmental Regulations, Electrical Safety Authority, Occupational Health & Safety, Ministry of Labour essential.
Experience with fixed and rotary-wing operations as well as fuel operations.
Experience with power generation systems an asset.
Must have excellent MS Office skills.
Must hold a valid Driver\'s License.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with superb communication and presentation skills, and first-class interpersonal and organizational skills. They will be required to interface with client and institute officials, subcontractors and vendors in connection with contract/subcontract negotiations, approvals, financial arrangements and contractual information.
