Your role


Join our team as an Associate Project Manager in our Whitehorse, Yukon office.
Our Associate Project Managers get the opportunity to work with the best in the industry and to develop their skills on a diverse range of projects that vary in scope and complexity. In this role, you will be able to demonstrate your experience by supporting projects in a variety of sectors such as municipal, indigenous, health and post-secondary. Responsibilities:

  • Be a team player and show up with a can-do attitude for clients and colleagues
  • Work alongside experienced project managers to learn the keys to client relationship building and successful project delivery
  • Be curious, ask questions and share your observations with the project team
  • Assist in the delivery of complex capital projects by performing schedule updates, maintaining project controls, developing progress reports and preparing tender and contract documents
  • Grow your experience and take on responsibilities that align with your skills and ambition
  • Attend various project meetings, capturing accurate action items and key decisions in meeting minutes
  • Provide a communication path between the Project Manager and other project stakeholders
  • Ensure that project activities are conducted in accordance with Colliers Project Leaders Quality Management System
Qualifications:
  • Understanding of Indigenous culture, rights and title and community governance
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationship across a wide range of clients, colleagues and project partners
  • Desire to support Indigenous communities and local governments to deliver meaningful community projects
  • Self-motivation, initiative and an eagerness to learn and contribute to meeting project deliverables
  • 1 to 3 years of experience representing owners to multiple stakeholders to deliver construction and building projects or other community projects of varying size and scope
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Previous exposure to consultant and design management, construction contract administration or project financials is an asset
  • A results-oriented approach with the ability to take action and responsibility
  • Exceptional detail orientation, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing tasks to meet tight deadlines and client expectations
  • Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications
  • CAPM designation, PMP and LEED accreditation would be an asset
