We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager for our facility in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Projects Manager - Component Projects, in this role you will manage the overall technical, cost and schedule requirements on assigned contracts and interface with customers to ensure the company\'s resources are properly directed for satisfactory contract execution. Leads larger teams and effectively coaches team members as appropriate. Engages in regular communication with suppliers, subcontractors, partners and customers. Regularly reports project progress to senior management and/or the customer. This job has no direct reports.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

For medium sized projects:

  • Lead teams comprised of engineering, nuclear engineering, project planners/cost estimators, QA/QC and field operations at nuclear utilities.
  • Provide effective leadership through communicating expectations and instilling accountability.
  • Direct the overall technical, cost and schedule requirements on assigned contracts, including engineering and field services.
  • Interface with customer to ensure that contract requirements are met including cost/schedule reporting, multi-phase design reviews and other engineering deliverables.
  • Develop growth opportunities in Nuclear Equipment business line.
  • Take corrective action as necessary to ensure compliance with technical specifications and schedule commitments.
  • Develop proposals for Nuclear Equipment projects and lead technical and commercial negotiations.
  • Coordinate subcontracting efforts to ensure that any outsourced work scopes meet all technical requirements.
  • Negotiation and resolution of any technical and/or commercial issues with customers and subcontractors.
  • Define/design activities (starting from existing solutions), and roles/responsibilities for team members for unique requirements of the project. Formulate business case in support of deviations and exceptions.
  • Interpret contractual requirements and negotiate minor changes to project scope or specification with the project client/customer.
  • Regularly reports project progress to senior management and/or the customer.
  • Make adjustments to project execution plan based on customer and internally driven changes.
  • Manage change through defined change control process for the assigned process.
  • Contribute to improving/developing systems and with setting project evaluation parameters to improve profitability.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • BSc in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10 to 15 years related experience.
  • Major contract management experience with sophisticated buyers such as nuclear utilities.
  • Experience in customer relationship management.
