A well established, premium Millwork company, producing a wide mix of commercial millwork projects is looking for a proven
Project Manager
with experience in architectural millwork and cabinetry. We are looking for a professional, self-motivated, team player that can take responsibility for coordinating and scheduling all projects for a growing millwork operation serving BC markets.
The Project Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of custom projects including confirming scope of work, creating and managing schedules and budgets, liaising with customers, contractors and employees, conducting field assessments, collecting measurements and drawings as needed, holding hand-off meetings, ordering all materials - especially long lead and specialty items - on time, identifying and submitting change orders, handle and manage on-site coordination with installers, contractors and subs, and ensuring customer expectations are met.
Reporting to senior management and working in concert with all the other departmental staff you will directly manage projects from the design stage to on-site installation.
To fully qualify for and be successful in this position you must have:
A minimum of 2-3 years experience in architectural millwork or cabinet project management
Relevant prior experience as a cabinetmaker, millworker or installer.
Full understanding of architectural blueprints/drawings.
Experience manipulating existing AutoCAD drawings and markup/comment methods.
Capacity to develop, schedule and manage multiple projects on time and on budget.
Knowledge of AWMAC standards and industry best practices.
Knowledgeable in joinery methodologies/procedures used in millwork and cabinet construction. Particularly as they apply to traditional commercial millwork.
Knowledge of materials and hardware applications as well as machining, joinery, lamination and finishing practices as they apply to commercial cabinetry
Familiarity with on-site logistics requirements and safe work practices.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Organized, and possess strong decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail oriented with exceptional documentation and time management skills.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.
Ability to coordinate and work effectively in a team setting with all levels of employees, contractors and clients to achieve results.
