NOW HIRING! Project Manager - Architectural Millwork
Looking for someone with extensive Architectural Millwork experience (5-10+ years).
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee large-scale, high-end architectural millwork (wood) projects. This position is responsible for end-to-end project management, coordinating with trades on-site and departments in our manufacturing facility. As the primary point of contact for clients and general contractors, the Senior Project Manager ensures client satisfaction while aligning expectations with company deliverables.
Purpose of the Role:
Our Senior Project Manager plays a key role in supporting clients and translating their expectations into successful project outcomes. This includes managing design, quality, scheduling, and communication across internal and external stakeholders. The position involves strategic planning, coordination, and execution of all aspects of a project from award through closeout.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the main point of contact for clients, general contractors, installers and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead planning, scheduling, and coordination efforts for all project phases.
Manage and optimize project budgets, timelines, and resources.
Coordinate with Business Development, Engineering, Programming and Production to ensure project efficiency and profitability.
Oversee sample submittals and approvals; maintain and update the sample registries.
Review and track shop drawings; maintain drawing logs and communicate updates to clients and production.
Coordinate materials, site dimensions, logistics, and integration of millwork.
Monitor and resolve issues related to design, installation, quality, and project changes.
Prepare purchasing requisitions and track material deliveries with appropriate documentation.
Collaborate with trades (e.g., electrical, plumbing, flooring) to ensure seamless integration with millwork scope.
Conduct regular site visits for measurement verification, coordination, and quality assurance.
Track project changes and collaborate with Estimating to issue change orders within 5 days.
Ensure accurate and timely invoicing; assist Accounting with monitoring receivables.
Maintain organized project documentation including closeout materials, as-built drawings, and warranty packages.
Ensure completion of all deficiency lists and secure client sign-off.
Execute quality control documentation and liaise with production supervisors.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management, within architectural millwork, custom fabrication, or related industries.
Strong knowledge of AWMAC AWI, millwork project workflows from design to installation and understanding of construction.
Proven ability to manage complex, high-end commercial or residential projects.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
Proficient in project documentation, budgeting, and scheduling software (Crow's Nest would be an asset).
