The Project Manager who will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring effective utilization of required organizational resources, conforming to company policies, strategies and goals while applying appropriate best practices to successfully deliver specific and singular objectives. Key responsibilities include delivering every project on time, within budget and within scope.

Responsibilities:

  • Takes a leadership role in the end to end planning and execution of project(s) ensuring effective utilization of required organizational resources, conformity to company policies and strategies, meeting appropriate best practices and contributing to the further refinement of the Project Management Office methodologies
  • Ensures that mission critical project budgets, plans, issues, risks and change requests are identified, monitored, actioned and reported on in a timely manner
  • Direct and has overall responsibility for the completion of projects involving Internal Customers often in a matrix management structure
  • Establishes and maintains effective, productive relationships with project team, business leads and Stakeholders (inclusive but not limited to executive suite, senior management, business owners and other impacted functional groups) across the organization.
  • Implement the project management methodology throughout all areas of the organization by taking a leadership role in promoting effective communication of project status, timelines, risks, issues and successes in conjunction with Stakeholders.
  • Support corporate/governance reporting requirements
  • Support the creation of business cases and related components (i.e. investment committee)
Qualifications:
  • Degree in the field of Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years progressive experience
  • PMP certification an asset (or working towards PMP certification)
  • Formal project management training an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Project
  • Lean Six Sigma training/experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of the courier industry is an asset
  • Proven project management experience including the management of people and projects
  • Proven record of successful delivery of business, IT and/or Engineering projects
  • Able to manage conflicting priorities with tight deadlines
  • Well-developed communication skills (written and verbal) appropriate to various Key Customers, stakeholders and team members
  • Proven experience in coordinating and managing resources across business functions
  • Thorough understanding of project management techniques and methods
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Knowledge of change management principles
