The Opportunity

We are currently looking to fill the position of Project Manager to join our Capital Projects team in a permanent position. Reporting to the Senior Manager, this role will lead the development and implementation of Capital Projects

As a Project Manager:

  • You will be responsible for economic and business case development of alternatives for capital projects, supporting the development of an execution model to undertake this work and support stakeholder relationships.
  • You will be required to work closely with members of the Hydro Operations, Energy Delivery operations, Nova Scotia Power\xe2\x80\x99s Senior Management and Capital Projects Team, as well as other technical groups, to ensure the projects are developed and successfully implemented.
  • You will be responsible for personal safety, that of co-workers, and those under your direction by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
  • You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environment management system processes and initiatives.

To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills listed below:
  • Be an Experienced Engineering Professional, strong Analytical and Project Management skills.
  • Experienced in Project Economics, Analytical Evaluation, Risk Management and Project Controls are essential.
  • This position requires 8-10 years of Capital Development and Construction related experience.
  • The ideal candidate shall have strong communications skills with regards to external partners and internal stakeholders.
  • You demonstrate strong relationship skills, and an ability to work well with at various levels of the organization, including NS Power executive leadership team.
  • You also possess strong analytical, quantitative skills, and attention to detail.
  • You must possess a valid driver\xc2\xb4s license and be available to provide assistance / direction for after hour emergency service restoration.
  • Possess a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Engineering, preferable Civil, Mechanical or Chemical
  • P. Eng designation and PMP certification would be an asset.
