Job Description


Our client, a real estate development company with a growing portfolio of projects is looking to hire a Project Manager with a proven track record of success in managing multi-family, condo, and residential construction projects. This leadership position will be based in Calgary, Alberta.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the ability to achieve results, even in challenging circumstances
  • Oversee construction activities until handover to homeowners and tenants
  • Excel in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
  • Nurture and sustain existing relationships with industry consultants and trades
  • Communicate priorities with confidence and transparency
  • Expertly manage budgets and schedules
  • Maintain overall responsibility for projects until turnover to homeowners and tenants
  • Provide input on consultant selections and oversee the procurement of soil testing/reports and any necessary environmental testing/reports
  • Participate in and represent construction interests from the project\'s inception
  • Offer value engineering and construction assistance up to the issuance of Development Permit (DP)
  • Facilitate the resolution of material issues with input from the development team
  • Ensure and enforce quality control measures for the final product
  • Successfully deliver projects on schedule and within budget, regularly updating cash flow projections
  • Assist in updating company site safety practices and enforce them on-site
  • Generate estimates/budgets at various stages of the development process
  • Mentor and develop Junior Project Managers and Project Coordinators
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing all phases of designing and construction for multi-family residential projects
  • Thorough understanding of the specific requirements, codes, and regulations for building in Alberta, particularly in Calgary
  • Proficient computer skills for reviewing and producing project documents and effective communication in an online, real-time environment
  • Desirable knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Demonstrate a balance of humility and ambition
