Position Summary
The Project Lead, QA is a key leadership role responsible for enabling project teams, trade partners, and consultants to deliver work that meets the highest quality standards. This role focuses on providing direction, technical guidance, and oversight to ensure the effective implementation of the Project Quality Plan across all phases of construction. Rather than performing inspections directly, the Project Lead, QA supports others in understanding quality expectations, interpreting technical requirements, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks. This role is instrumental in embedding quality into the project culture and ensuring that quality processes are integrated into planning, execution, and closeout activities.

Key Responsibilities
Provide quality leadership and technical direction to project teams, ensuring effective implementation of the Project Quality Plan.
Support the development and application of project-specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and ensure teams understand and execute them effectively.
Guide teams in interpreting technical drawings and specifications, and ensure inspection records, NCRs, and corrective actions are accurately maintained.
Coordinate with site teams, consultants, and third parties to align inspection protocols and ensure timely execution of daily inspection programs.
Monitor construction activities to verify compliance with quality standards and support the resolution of non-conformances and deficiencies.
Promote awareness of quality risks and opportunities and ensure proactive identification and mitigation of potential issues.
Review project schedules, design changes, and construction sequencing to forecast quality risks and collaborate on mitigation strategies.
Facilitate communication across stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality expectations and timely resolution of quality-related issues.
Support audit readiness, project handover documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives across the project team.
Perform additional duties as required by the Project Director.
Education & Experience
Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent (a combination of education and experience will be considered).
Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil and/or infrastructure construction.
Previous experience with inspection and testing of concrete and rebar.
Familiarity with CSA A23.1, CSA A23.2, CSA N291, CSA N287, and other applicable standards.
Proficiency in Procore and Microsoft Office Suite.
ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor certification is preferred.
Required Skills
Strong understanding of quality management principles, including risk identification and mitigation.
Ability to lead and influence others to adopt quality best practices.
Skilled in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and documentation abilities
