Project Financial AdministratorPrimary Purpose: This position will be responsible for providing organizational support to the Mozambique-Canada Sexual and Reproductive Health for Young Women in Inhambane Project in both administration and finance.Nature of Work: Reporting to the Canadian Project Director, this position will be responsible for providing overall organizational support to the project. The incumbent will work in both administrative and financial areas of the project, requiring the ability to work flexibly and to make decisions around competing deadlines. The project is multi-faceted with a large budget, and the incumbent will be expected to support the Canadian Project Director in many ways, and will be expected to exercise judgement, identify issues and problem solve. The nature of work is such that it will require an in-person presence in the project offices at USask.Accountabilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the project, including managing the office space in CHE, providing support for meetings and events, tracking annual workplans and writing, editing and proofreading general correspondence.
  • Provide financial support to the project by tracking expenses, preparing fund reconciliations and providing analyses and reports about the project\'s financial status on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure that program budgets and funds are administered in accordance with university policies and funder guidelines and that financial processes are effective and efficient.
  • Assist with preparation of reports to the funder and with any external audits.
  • Assist with tracking indicator data on the project\'s results.
  • Assess office and financial administrative procedures and processes with a view to making them more effective and efficient.
  • Ensure the project website is accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain collaborative interactions with financial and data personnel in Mozambique.
QualificationsEducation: Relevant post-secondary education is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Experience: A minimum of three years\' experience in an administrative role in an academic and/or NGO environment. Experience working internationally or with international teams (some members based in Canada and others based outside Canada) a strong asset. Experience with University systems, i.e., UNIFI/FAST, Concur, Connection Point, AboutUS, PCards and with University policies and procedures a strong asset.Skills: Demonstrated strong organizational, time management, relationship building and critical thinking skills; proven ability to work in a complex setting and manage multiple responsibilities with competing demands and deadlines; ability to maintain meticulous attention to detail and ensure accuracy; effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated strong financial management skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and be self-motivated, as well as to work collaboratively in a team environment. Demonstrated strong computer skills, including proficiency with all USask financial and administrative management systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Knowledge of Portuguese an asset.Department: Community Hlth & Epidemiology

Salary: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $52,050.00 - 81,328.00 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
