The GO Expansion scope : new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

Roles & Responsibilities

The Project Engineering Manager (PrEM) is in charge and responsible for all Engineering activities deployed during the project.

  • Coordinating all Engineering activities in Alstom Services NAM, other Alstom units worldwide, and external suppliers.
  • Managing the complete Engineering work-package, taking care of:
  • Quality of deliverables to the end customer as per contractual requirements, especially all technical performances;
  • Quality of deliverables to internal customers as per Project Plan (Sourcing, Supply Chain, Industrial\xe2\x80\xa6);
  • Respect of the budget;
  • Delivery on time
  • Risks & Opportunities related to Engineering scope
The PrEM deals with multiple interfaces, in particular the core team of the project, the engineering community and the end customer. Within the Engineering group the PrEM can count with the support of the leaders of the different \xe2\x80\x9cmetiers\xe2\x80\x9d (mechanical design, systems, electrical, configuration, RAMS\xe2\x80\xa6) to provide accurate resources and manage the deliverables of their respective team.
  • Engineering Schedule construction
  • Build engineering scheduled in collaboration with the engineering team.
  • Engineering planning update and follow-up
  • Drive the engineering team in achieving their commitments on engineering schedule
  • To support in identifying critical path & to communicate.
  • To survey blocking points regarding committed dates.
  • To propose solutions, to follow implementation and to escalade if necessary.
  • Give visibly on engineering schedule situation.
  • Continuous improvement on engineering schedule
Reporting
  • Reporting hierarchically to the head of Services Project Engineering and functionally to the Chief of Development of the project
  • Multiple functional reports (no direct report);
Educational requirements
  • Graduated 4 years Engineering degree.
  • P.Eng certified or in progress
Technical Knowledge / Experience
  • Minimum 5 years in Railways environment: design and/or modernization of Rolling Stock.
  • Demonstrated track record of strong leadership and previous exposure to customers on complex projects.
  • Good knowledge of Excel , PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, MS Project / Primavera
Languages:
Mandatory : English fluent
Appreciated : French
