Project Engineer Calgary, Alberta, Canada Description Phasor Engineering Inc, is a fast growing T&D specialty engineering consultant. As part of the Valard Group within Canada and the Quanta Group internationally we work on some of the largest and most complex T&D projects within North America. Phasor has full design service capabilities for transmission, distribution, substations (P&C, Electrical, SCADA, Commissioning), renewables (Battery Energy Storage Systems, Solar and Wind), telecommunications, foundations design and geomatics. Requirements DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to develop and lead team members in design of utility substations.
- Develop, maintain and track to project schedules of multi-disciplinary projects
- Writing and planning project scope, proposals, estimates, change notices, budgets and similar documents
- Development of material and construction specifications
- Prepare estimates, procurement support, material take-offs, requisitions, design packages and technical evaluations
- Track reception of material and inventory
- Maintain and enhance relationships with internal groups and clients. Act as the main technical interface for client(s) where required
- Provide construction support, write non-compliances reports (when necessary), and responding to information requests from construction team and ensuring project documentation is completed
- Checking specifications, drawings and test reports to ensure high quality design
- Run the Quality Plan and ensure the validity of documents related to the quality and monitors them
- Act as liaison and technical resources for all engineering personnel on the project
- Manage and control the engineering budget and deliverables list
- Prepare project forecasts
- Prepare project status reports
- Set agenda and lead project meetings, including preparation of meeting minutes
- Other duties as requested and assigned
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Engineer
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in Canada, directly related to transmission line and substation engineering or construction
- PMP is not required but would be considered an asset.
- Registered Engineer or eligible for registration as an EIT with a Canadian engineering organization
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Able to travel to site on occasion.
- Maintain a class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license in good standing
