We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our rapidly growing company in Burlington, Ontario.
Key Purpose
The Project Engineer will interpret client needs and take the lead with design coordination between various disciplines. The incumbent will be able to make decisions based on a careful understanding of all available information; detailed technical knowledge; expertise and considerations for all sides of the issue.
Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Plan, manage, and coordinate all design activities for a multidisciplinary team and work independently to hit deadlines and OKRs
  • Support multiple projects during the various stages of the project to ensure effective project execution
  • Coordinate with the project delivery team to manage the defined engineering scope, schedule, and budget
  • Coordinate with external sub-consultants, project managers and project coordinators to confirm procurement package technical sections are in compliance with the design and local codes
  • Manage the change process for engineering deliverables
  • Support with permit submittals and acquisition to/from authorities having jurisdiction
  • Support during construction and installation activities in the field, for clarifications and changes
  • Support the construction team and ensure proper quality control/quality assurance procedures are taking place
  • Assist project teams with the document control procedure and proper issuing of transmittals
  • Maintain RFI log for all engineering packages
  • Capable of researching the information required to progress the design or make assumptions that can be validated
  • Capable of witnessing and reviewing the testing, inspection, and verification of installed equipment through commissioning reports, balancing reports, etc.

Key Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience working in a design-build environment
  • Ability to be licensed in Ontario
  • Experience in Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional construction
  • Proficiency in the use of the following: AutoCAD 2019 LT, 3-D modeling (Revit in particular), Procore (ERP software), and Microsoft Office
  • Strong technical communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience writing technical reports and project specifications
  • Experience in Plumbing/HVAC/Electrical will be considered an asset
  • Environmentally Controlled and/or Cannabis facility design will be considered an asset
  • Advanced understanding of quality standards relative to mechanical design principles and procedures and construction concepts, relevant building codes, and jurisdictional by-law requirements
  • Exceptional communication, time management, and negotiating skills with the ability to perform as a leader within a team environment
Education and Training Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in either Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited University / College
  • 5-10 years of Design/Engineering experience
  • French proficiency will be an asset
  • Construction related experience is considered an asset
