The SYMHRI was developed in response to recommendations of the University of Toronto\'s Presidential and Provostial Task Force on Student Mental Health. The vision of SYMHRI is to provide the leadership and capacity to enhance student mental health and wellbeing through world-class research, innovations, and applications. The initiative aims to become a global leader in student and youth mental health research and research-driven innovations. By prioritizing the student voice, these critical outcomes will be accomplished by investing in high quality, impactful research and by driving scalable research innovations in collaboration with postsecondary students, institutions, and community and global partners.Your opportunity:Under direction of the Director, Strategy & Operations, Inlight Student Mental Health Research, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to the Student and Youth Mental Health Research Initiative (SYMHRI) at the Faculty of Nursing. Specific duties include maintaining and disseminating information via social media and digital platforms, coordinating and organizing events and programming, generating and editing reports, and disseminating surveys and formatting data collected. In addition, the successful incumbent will be responsible for administrative processes including minor purchases, recording expenses, and taking meeting minutes.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Creating and maintaining presence on social media platforms
  • Editing content for brochures, newsletters, websites and/or handbooks
  • Collating and organizing data for various reports
  • Processing accounts receivable according to the University Guide to Financial Management
  • Writing routine documents and correspondence
  • Disseminating and collecting research surveys and questionnaires
Essential Qualifications:
  • Advanced College Diploma (3 years) in a science-related discipline or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience in project coordination, administration support and event management, preferably in health-related environment in a large post-secondary institution.
  • Demonstrated experience in administering multiple projects and tasks simultaneously including coordinating scope of projects and administering the life cycle from conceptualization to completion.
  • Demonstrated experience editing, proof-reading, and fact-checking content and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing events.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining information on digital platforms and disseminating information via social media.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong database management skills (eg, Excel).
  • Experience with graphic design and communications platforms (eg, Canva, Mailchimp, WordPress).
  • Excellent organizational skills and proven attention-to-detail with a demonstrated commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Results-oriented with strong time-management and problem-solving skills with the ability to make effective decisions and set priorities to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality for sensitive and/or confidential matters
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity with individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
