The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Canadian Blood Services is looking for a temporary full-time Project Coordinator, to join our dynamic Enterprise Program Management Office team.The Enterprise Program Management Office (ePMO) sets organization-wide standards for managing portfolios, programs, projects, and change initiatives, focusing on corporate projects and multi-year planning. It collaborates with divisional teams to execute select corporate projects, offers change management expertise, and enhances the Project Management Community of Practice by fostering teamwork, creativity, and professional connections.In this role, you will ensure the effective implementation of projects and initiatives through the coordination of all activities within the program, including background research, assisting with initiative plans, monitoring of deliverables, and ensuring all project support activities are performed effectively.Formula for success
  • Utilizing your demonstrated procedure development abilities, you will provide expertise in the development, submission, and maintenance of documentation in support of projects. You will be required to ensure document management is consistent with organizational and program requirements.
  • Focusing on your excellent interpersonal skills, you will provide logistical, organizational, and administrative assistance to program team members.
  • Leveraging your strong organizational and prioritization skills, you will schedule and coordinate project meetings including preparation and distribution of meeting documents and recording meeting minutes.
  • Concentrating on your excellent communication skills and ability to work on cross-functional teams, you will support the program with the development of materials for communications to employees or for program governance committees.
  • Using your proven decision making and problem-solving skills, you will review the Corporate Project Portfolio to identify cross-functional projects that impact new initiatives and operations and working with Project Managers to assess the impact.
  • Drawing on your attention to detail and adherence to timelines, you will assist with the preparation and administration of contracts and purchase requisitions.
Desired education and skills
  • Completion of a post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in business or project management will be required.
  • Minimum 3 years\' experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Experience in the project management lifecycle will be required.
  • Experience with web-based technology and Microsoft Project will be considered a definite asset.
  • Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet computer skills.
  • A working knowledge of project management principles will be considered an asset.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English are essential.
