ABOUT THIS ROLE
Black & McDonald's Projects team is growing! The Project Coordinator is located in Saskatoon and typically reports directly to a Project or Division Manager.
Project Coordinators assist with overall project performance and status from start to finish and in accordance with schedule, specifications, and budget. They manage cost, schedule, safety, and quality, and keep the Project Manager / Division Manager well-informed of progress, discrepancies, questions, and any impacts on project plan and schedule. Duties and responsibilities include:
Establish and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders including Black & McDonald team members, clients, consultants, joint venture partners, trades, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and the community, while keeping them informed of relevant information.
Provide technical expertise as well as administrative support to the overall health of the project.
Assist in planning and preparing schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established timelines.
Ensure work is performed in compliance with applicable HSE legislation and company policies and procedures, contract requirements, and Black & McDonald policies and procedures.
Maintain departmental and network databases as required to ensure records are kept current and accurate.
Participate in document control, archive project activities, deliverables, tools, and findings for use in future projects.
Assist the project team to ensure project objectives, schedule, budget, cash flow, policies, procedures, and performance standards are met in accordance with company policy and contract specifications.
Coordinate with the project team to plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and execute projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with corporate policy.
Assist in preparing contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Assist in budget analysis, cost and margin projections, estimate project changes and impacts.
Track, interpret, analyze, and report on project data.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
A Degree or Diploma in the following would be considered an asset:
Engineering
Project Management
Construction Engineering Technology
Construction Management
Trade certification
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
2-5 years in the construction industry in a project coordination or project administration capacity
On site project experience in construction is considered an asset
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, applicable trade certificate or technical diploma in construction management, Engineering or related field
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Proficient knowledge and understanding of:
Willing to travel and work on site across Saskatchewan
Assist the project manager and superintendent with overall project performance in areas such as cost, schedule, quality, safety and document control
Contract management
Perform takeoffs and surveys to assist with project reporting and progress
Subcontractor management
Blueprint reading
Procurement
Project MEP design interpretation
Established construction practices, procedures, and techniques
Applicable local and provincial labour codes
Managing / leading union and non-union staff
Organization and time management
Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
Valid Driver's License
