YOU MUST HAVE COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATING EXPERIENCE IN WESTERN CANADA TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE.
Scope: To assist the Project Manager with estimating, coordination, and scheduling of day-to-day tasks and provide administrative duties for the life cycle of a commercial building construction project.
Reports to:
The Project Coordinator / Estimator reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Tasks, Activities, Requirements:
The below list is a guideline of the duties that may be required throughout a project but are not limited to:
1. Obtain pertinent project details including specifications, drawings, and project schedules to accurately understand the proposed scope of the work.
2. Work with Project Manager and Site Superintendent at project start-up to develop project planning, award sub-trade contracts, purchase orders, and material procurement.
3. Work with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Construction Managers to compile estimates/budgets for projects using subcontractor quotes and previous project pricing.
4. Ensure all permits are in place.
5. Contact and qualify sub-trades.
6. Travel to job sites as needed to review progress.
7. Work with Project Manager to monitor project budgets.
8. Coordinate shop drawing submittals with the Project Manager and obtain all close-out documents.
9. In conjunction with the Project Manager and Site Superintendent, updates the project schedule to reflect the ongoing progress of the project(s) they have been assigned.
10. Monitors all change orders, site instructions, RFI's, and facilitates the revised scope of work in a timely
manner.
11. Develop a professional working relations with all clients, engineers, permitting authorities, subcontractors, staff, and suppliers and promotes a partnership type of business strategy.
12. Attend project meetings with the stakeholders, project team members, subcontractors, and consultants as needed.
13. Work closely with management and employees to ensure customer satisfaction is being maintained.
14. Proficiency with computers and associated software is key. Must monitor, organize, and respond to emails in a timely manner as required to keep projects running smoothly.
15. Look for opportunities for continual education that will further skills and understanding of job requirements.
16. Follow all company policies and safety guidelines.
17. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
18. Other duties as required on a job-by-job basis.
Safety Responsibilities:
- To read, understand, know, and apply company health and safety policies, safe work practices, procedures, rules, and legislated OH&S requirements.
- To ensure subcontractors have completed the prequalification process prior to awarding projects.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
