POSITION SUMMARY

In this role, you'll bridge the gap between field operations, project management, and financial controls--coordinating onsite construction activities while overseeing budgets and administrative processes. You'll work closely with construction managers, subcontractors, and project controls teams to deliver high-quality results that align with TNDC's mission of sustainable and responsible business practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:



Construction Coordination & Field Support + Act as a liaison between field crews, subcontractors, and project management, ensuring clear communication and adherence to Safety First, Safety Always principles. + Assist in planning and scheduling daily/weekly project activities, including material deliveries, equipment allocations, and workforce deployments.
+ Conduct regular site inspections, document progress (photos, logs), and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards (e.g., WorkSafeBC, OH&S).
+ Implement and monitor Quality Management Systems (QMP), ensuring hold points, checklists, and audits are completed (e.g., RFIs, NCRs).
+ Resolve onsite issues proactively, collaborating with engineers, superintendents, and environmental teams.




Financial Controls & Reporting + Track project costs, materials, and quantities using tools like quantity tracking sheets; report variances and risks to the Construction Manager. + Generate and submit LEMs (Labour, Equipment, Materials), ensuring accurate client billing and compliance with contract terms.
+ Assist with procurement, PO tracking, and invoice reconciliation to maintain financial transparency.
+ Prepare weekly/monthly reports (progress, KPIs, safety stats) for internal and client stakeholders.
+ Ensure jobs are correctly set up in the system, including cost codes, PO tie-ins, and job structures, in alignment with company policies.
+ Work closely with Payroll and Accounts Payable (AP) to ensure cost structures are accurately set up for labour, equipment, and materials.
+ Coordinate with departments to ensure proper work breakdown structures (WBS), cost tracking mechanisms, and equipment utilization reporting are in place, inclusive of inputting payroll data when required.
Administrative & Compliance Duties + Maintain project documentation (drawings, as-builts, meeting minutes) with Integrity and accuracy. + Facilitate subcontractor onboarding, safety orientations, and compliance with TNDC's Diversity and inclusion policies.
+ Support change management processes, documenting scope/cost adjustments and updating schedules.
+ Generate, review, and submit LEMs ensuring compliance with client requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:



Experience

o 2+ years in heavy civil construction (roadbuilding, earthworks, utilities) or related fields; previous experience in a related industry would be an asset - combination of related post- secondary coursework and experience will be considered

Technical Skills

o Proficiency in MS Office (Advanced Excel), project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera), and cost-tracking systems.


o Ability to read construction drawings, contracts, and specifications.


o Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
