The project coordinator\'s primary focus is to support the design and implementation of the project, community engagement, conduct qualitative analysis and summary, and ensure efficient compensation to participants based on university policies and guidelines.Organizational Status
The coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the project steering committee (Emily Brigham, Derek Thompson, Stephanie Harvard and Adrian Yee) and report to the steering committee once every two weeks or as needed during the project cycle.Work PerformedThe job description is as follows:Coordinates design, planning, and implementation of the Climate Health and Knowledge Community project.Coordinates community engagement, sharing cycles, focus groups or individual interviews, and relationships, such as working with community organization leaders to set up engagement opportunities.Collaborates with Indigenous communities and health Services Organizations to recruit participants, build communities, and gather feedback about the project activities.Collaborates with the Digital Solutions team (Faculty of Medicine) to ensure data safety.Seeks input from Indigenous communities to ensure the project aligns with OCAP principles.Collaborates with the Evaluation team to develop an evaluation framework and coordinate evaluation studies.Coordinates recruitment of participants in collaboration with project team members.Organizes focus group and individual interviews.Creates and manage confidential data files; will be responsible for accuracy/validity of data entered as well as proper storage of physical filesPrepares (cleaning, quality checks, organization) data ready for qualitative analyses and publicationOversees day-to-day budget use and invoice payments efficiently, optimizes the use of resources and ensures expenditures adhere to institutional guidelines and Indigenous Finance Guidelines of UBC.Collaborates with Indigenous and non-Indigenous community organizations, student organizations, and health services organizations to develop and maintain relationshipsPerforms other related duties as assignedTravels to rural and remote communities for in-person engagement and/or sharing circles activities.Consequence of Error/JudgementInappropriate judgement and noncompliance to standard protocols would greatly compromise the quality of educational products, related data acquisition, and the reporting of evaluation outcomes.Inappropriate judgement and noncompliance to standard protocols also could compromise the safety and well-being of the participants.Inappropriate judgement and noncompliance with standard protocols would compromise product development success and affect the credibility of the Principal Investigator and the educational products.Poor financial decisions would affect the unit\'s ability to manage its resources effectively, which would result in research projects being delayed or cancelled altogether.Supervision Received
