Job Description

Our client in Hamilton is looking to add a Project Controller to their growing team. If you enjoy being part of a high energy, fast paced environment this may be a great opportunity for you. Working directly with the project team you will be an integral part of project analysis, progress, and decisions. Reporting to the VP Finance and the Sr. Project Director you will provide financial support to the project team to ensure project performance. This is a full time permanent in-office opportunity located in Hamilton.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support project team on cost control, financial risks and opportunities
• Work with project managers to complete monthly project reporting including budget vs. actual analysis, variance analysis and cost forecasts
• Work with procurement team to ensure vendor and contractor management
• Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts to provide finance team with project visibility
• Prepare project income statements monthly
• Address project shortfalls and recommendations to project managers including cost saving techniques, potential risks and suggested substitutions to improve project outcomes
• Act as a link between operations and finance to maintain visibility between departments
• Lead weekly update meetings with senior management

• CPA designation or near completion
• Prior project accounting experience is required
• Construction or industrial industry experience is considered an asset
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to take charge and identify problems and risks
• Strong analytical skills
• ERP experience and knowledge
• Advanced excel skills
