Your Opportunity

The successful performance of a project largely depends on appropriately planning and monitoring our scope of work and as a Senior Project Controller, you will be responsible to assist your Project Manager with the control aspects of the project, specifically around schedule, cost, risk and scope management.

We are seeking an individual with demonstrated experience in project controls related work including knowledge of project management processes and project life cycles. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, is detail-oriented, have excellent computer software skills and enjoys working in a supportive team environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

Understand the project life cycle and implement project controls processes and procedures as required

Understand and provide support to develop Work Breakdown Structures for project estimation, execution and monitoring

Setup, Prepare and maintain project or engineering schedule and cost control aspects from project initiation to close out

Collect information to support cost control reports to project managers

Collect information to support schedule updates for project managers

Analyze, evaluate and forecast schedule and cost based on progress and performance

Track cost and schedule performance against baselines

Monitor project budgets and recommend and facilitate change management processes as required

Review and code 3rd party invoices for processing

Validate source data and ensure integrity of processes affecting project success such as project coding, budget allocation, A/R & A/P project related activity

Manage invoicing while ensuring compliance to project contractual terms and conditions

Build and maintain effective relationships with Project Managers and Clients

Perform thorough QA/QC on all deliverables.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Proven ability to work in a deadline driven environment, ability to prioritize and multi-task and manage client expectations

Proven ability in Project Planning and Scheduling

Proven ability in Project Monitoring, KPI Tracking (Schedule, Budget, Cost and EV Management), Risk Management and Vendor Management

Understanding of Procurement and Supply Chain Management

Superior written and verbal communication skills

Experience with project controls in EPC projects, particularly master scheduling on large EPC projects

Proficient in MS Office including MS Project

Experience in Primavera P6

Prior project site work experience and ability and willingness to travel to site.

Ability to manage multiple sub-contractors and sub-contractor inputs for scheduling purposes

Ability to mentor junior staff

Previous supervisory experience an asset

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Business, Finance or a related field and 10 years of related work experience.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
