AECOM
\'s Architectural Design practice Buildings + Places is seeking a Project Architect to be responsible for the architectural design of projects. The design of Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facilities will be a major focus for this role. AECOM B+P Canada is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building\xe2\x80\x99s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to: Transit and Municipal, Commercial, and Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government. This position could be based out of any of our Canadian offices, with some work from home options available. Major Responsibilities:

  • The job incumbent will be responsible for the architectural design as well as some planning, coordination and control of several projects from inception to completion, with the goal of producing functionally and financially viable projects that will be completed on time, to the required quality. The design of Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facilities will be a major focus for this role.
  • Manages scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and change management.
  • Responsibilities include client communication, consultant coordination, design development, drawing review and contract administration.
  • Managing the production of drawings and reports.
  • Preparing and co-ordinating specification
  • Supervising and co-ordinating the work of others and co-ordinating work with engineers of other disciplines
  • Working closely with team leader to lead Architectural Design
  • Managing project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team


Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • In order to be considered, candidates must possess at a minimum:
  • University degree plus 6 (six) + years of experience in the Architectural design, planning, coordination and control of several projects.
  • Must be a Licensed Architect with the OAA and/or other Provinces, with OAA eligibility
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prefer 10+ years of experience in the Architectural design, planning, coordination and control of several projects. Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facilities is strongly preferred.
  • We are looking for an individual with experience in Institutional, municipal and commercial projects and broad skills in all phases of project delivery.
  • They must have a strong, hands-on technical knowledge, document review, inter-disciplinary coordination and experience in field review and contract administration is essential.
  • They must have Ability to work on a number of projects simultaneously in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team environment and Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
