Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Project Analyst.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. The Project Analyst will support the management of all strategic projects effectively by providing critical data and process support. They will review and assess key performance indicators through regular reports and metrics to support the project manager, track the project\xe2\x80\x99s progress against project plans, whilst providing guidance on data quality. The project analyst will play a key role in liaising with the various business stakeholders, acting as a point of contact for any issues or discrepancies arising before the problem escalates to the Project Manager or senior leads.

Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 Education: Post-secondary degree in Engineering is required.

\xc2\xb7 Certificate or diploma in PMP or equivalent would be an asset.

\xc2\xb7 Experience: 2 \xe2\x80\x93 5 years of relevant experience in Shipbuilding industry or business preferred

\xc2\xb7 Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams

\xc2\xb7 Excellent written and verbal communication skills

\xc2\xb7 Solid foundational knowledge of project management would be considered advantageous.

\xc2\xb7 Experience in, or a good understanding of, change management considered an asset.

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Track and report on multiple strategic project\xe2\x80\x99s progress through the identified project controls and management systems, providing appropriate metrics regularly.

\xc2\xb7 Organize, attend, and participate (or facilitate) in stakeholder meetings, ensuring clear agenda items are identified pre-meetings and minutes are provided post-meetings, following up on important actions and decisions when appropriate.

\xc2\xb7 Identify and understand project interdependencies to review with project owners and determine any required actions.

\xc2\xb7 Undertake project tasks/administration to support project sponsors as and when required.

\xc2\xb7 Preparing necessary presentation materials for project meetings when required.

\xc2\xb7 Assess project risks and issues, providing solutions where applicable or escalate when project challenges occur and the consequence (impact) for the Senior Strategy Manager\xe2\x80\x99s attention.

\xc2\xb7 Contribute to the development of project strategy plans based on the identified framework, where and when requested to do so, identifying any cross-project dependencies.

\xc2\xb7 Monitor project changes, recording and reporting when changes occur.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately, providing project administrative support as needed.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure stakeholders are given a voice and their views are managed towards improved operating business practices.

\xc2\xb7 Keep stakeholders focus on agreed project timeframes, objectives, and communications.

\xc2\xb7 Work with the Strategy & Governance management team to encourage stakeholder engagement, foster team relationships, and improve processes within the department.
