ABOUT THE CLIENT

Located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, our client has continued to dominate the real estate and construction industry for the past 50 years! In addition, they have also expanded their business to industries like renewable energy, tourist attraction and restaurants. Currently, they are looking to add a Project Accountant to their established team, the ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of real estate/ construction accounting experience.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the project accountant will be responsible for:

• Develop, manage, and continually improve the project proformas and financing budgets, ensuring balances and assumptions are well supported
• Assist in audit engagements and prepare monthly cost reports, budgets, variance analysis including proposed adjustments and reclassification.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, financial statements and working papers for project entities
• Prepare monthly construction draw packages and coordinate and respond to inquiries from the quantity surveyors, banks/lenders, and partners

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Salary: $85,000 to $95,000
• 2 to 3 weeks vacation
• Extended health and dental benefits.
• Discretionary bonus

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of experience in real estate and construction industry.
• Designated CPA or pursuing CPA is an asset
• Public accounting experience is an asset but not required.
• Experience working with complex budgets and forecasting.
