Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Project Accounting, the Project Accountant will be responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of project accounting. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable duties including organizing, tracking, coding and processing of all invoices and cheques
  • Review and setup of contracts and commitments for assigned projects
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements for Projects as well as Income Producing Properties
  • Prepare monthly journal entries
  • Respond to queries from vendors, project managers and other team members inside and outside of accounting
  • Assist in the preparation of various reconciliations including commissions, contracts, holdbacks, and chargeback
  • Performing support functions including filing, scanning and other ad hoc requests
  • Ensuring that the Policies and Procedures of the Accounting Department are adhered to as well as all regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree and working towards an accounting designation
  • Experience: 1 + years’ accounting experience in a development and construction accounting environment
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to meet tight timelines while managing multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Internal control oriented
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Willing to take on new tasks and projects with a team based focus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment

Work Schedule This full time position works 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday and is located in downtown Vancouver.
