About the Project Accountant Role

What will you do?

• Perform an effective pivot role between project management department and Finance department
• In charge of project financial life cycle from properly setting up project to closing out project in the ERP system
• Calculate project progress billing and assemble monthly owner billing package, and ensure invoice is sent to customers by deadline
• Review project costs and ensure all costs booked for projects are accurate
• Perform project cash flow forecast and ensure healthy cash flow for all assigned projects through proactively managing billing and AR collections
• Assist PM to proactively assess project financial risks and promptly escalate issues to next level management, ensure all project and contract related compliance in place
• Perform month-end tasks such as calculating revenue recognition, WIP adjustment, and validate project forecast
• Perform monthly project variance analysis
• Coordinate with Corporate AP for weekly cheque run
• Assist Controller with monthly reporting as well as ad-hoc reports

What will you need to succeed?

• 5+ years of project accounting experience in the construction industry preferred
• University Degree or College Diploma, Major in Accounting
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with construction software considered an asset
• Outstanding teamwork skills
