Work at Q College There is no such thing as an ordinary day when you work at Q College. We are looking for an instructor who can teach basic video game programming skills. Job Scope Reporting to the Campus Director the Coding Instructor is responsible for delivering curriculum effectively, mentoring students on projects and providing feedback to students in the Intermediate Skill coding course. The instructor will introduce the students to the following the basic principles of programming, tackling related subject matters like logic and algorithms. This course is an introduction to the interdisciplinary study of videogames as texts through an examination of their cultural, educational, and social functions in contemporary settings. Students analyze videogames while reading current research and theory from a variety of sources in the sciences, social sciences, humanities, and industry. Core Responsibilities
  • Deliver results-focused instruction to students.
  • Takes attendance. Assigns, monitors, and grades activities, homework, and exams.
  • Punctual and conscientious management of classes.
  • Maintains classroom order and supports students, providing individual guidance and referring students to Program Administration when appropriate.
  • Keeps up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and makes relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Job Qualifications
  • Post-secondary certificate, diploma, degree plus minimum 3 years of industry experience or minimum 5 years of industry experience.
  • Expert knowledge in scripting and game development and design.
  • Portfolio demonstrating a high caliber of professional work.
  • Ability to recognize individual learning styles and the characteristics of learners.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving skills and resourcefulness.
Job Type: Part-time Schedule:
