About the role:

Moonshot is currently looking for a Program Manager to lead the design and implementation of projects to engage individuals at-risk of online harms, including violent extremism, gender-based violence and disinformation.

This role entails responsibility for managing and developing key external relationships with clients and partners, including local health services, NGOs, government agencies, and law enforcement bodies, as well as promoting Moonshot\xe2\x80\x99s business development.

The ideal candidate will bring a creative, evidence-based approach to projects, as well as experience managing risk in a public safety context, and a solid understanding of the online risk landscape.

The Program Manager, with the input of senior management, will oversee the design and maintenance of a set of online services connecting at-risk individuals with intervention providers. They will use social media and online advertising tools to raise awareness of these services online. They will work closely with Moonshot\xe2\x80\x99s tech and programmes teams to optimize the user experience, and ensure the program complies with data protection regulations and other relevant legislation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing key relationships with clients, partner organizations and other stakeholders.
  • Management of intervention projects, including ensuring delivery within agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • Convening regular meetings with partner organizations, and overseeing workshops and training sessions to help them deliver intervention services online.
  • Overseeing analysis of diverse forms of data, including social media metrics, surveys, interviews, violent extremist material and data gathered by our in-house specialist software.
  • Identification and management of project risks.
  • Developing and sharing subject matter expertise related to violent extremism and online harms across the organization.
  • Developing new methodologies to track and challenge violent extremism, misinformation, and other public safety issues.
  • Supporting our business development by identifying and applying for funding opportunities, building relationships with clients and partner organizations.
Requirements

Essential:
  • Demonstrable experience of managing project teams, partners, and clients.
  • Demonstrable experience conducting outreach and building stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Relevant professional or research experience in public safety, countering violent extremism or other online harms.
  • Subject matter expertise in one of the following areas: far-right extremism, jihadist extremism, mis- and disinformation, hate crime, human trafficking, child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA).
  • Experience in supporting projects covering one or more of the following topics: interventions, capacity building, social media analysis, digital communications campaigns, monitoring and evaluation.
  • An ability to source, interpret and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data, particularly social media or digital marketing data.
  • Demonstrable ability to work under pressure, taking action and getting things done, both in managing your own workload and that of others.
  • Inquisitiveness and adaptability, particularly in relation to new technology and the use of social media for research.
  • Candidates will be expected to undertake any relevant security clearance procedures per the needs of clients.
  • In addition, we require all candidates to be eligible to work in either Canada or London, UK, and will require proof of this.
Desirable:
  • Fluency in languages other than English, particularly French.
  • Experience in delivering training workshops to partners and clients.
  • Ability to conduct advanced analysis of a wide range of traditional and non-traditional digital platforms and / or professional experience in open-source research, OSINT methods, or threat risk analysis.
  • Demonstrable experience with digital marketing on traditional and emerging media and social media platforms.
