Principal Program Manager

The Industry Solutions (IS) team is a global engineering organization that works directly with customers looking to leverage the latest technologies to address their toughest challenges and transform their industries using cloud-based solutions. We work closely with our customers' engineers to develop code to jointly solve their biggest challenges to accelerate progress in their organization. In the process, we help shape the future of our own platforms by partnering with our product groups to improve them. We pride ourselves on contributing to open source and making our platforms easier to adopt.

  • Engage with Microsoft 1st and 3rd party customers across gaming, and industry verticals.
  • Drive customer engagements to deliver solutions that generate immediate customer value. Serve as Product Owner, managing roadmaps and delivery plans, risks, and customer stakeholder expectations.
  • Drive planning and re-use strategy for prioritized game technology scenarios and foster meaningful contributions to Microsoft products, and open-source communities.
  • Continuously drive excellence in program management fundamentals to build our shared best-practices
We do not believe that any specific education major is a requirement to be successful in this role. We are open to all backgrounds and are looking for candidates with demonstrated ability to deliver on the responsibilities for the role.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ year's program/product management experience including industry research, technical strategy planning, and contributing to software production systems that run on the cloud infrastructure.
  • At least 1 year of industry experience in game development or a game publishing/production.
  • Experience working within an agile delivery process, such as scrum or kanban.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong program management (PM) experience in managing customer relationships and engagements, driving clarity for engineering teams, and managing risks and priorities with senior stakeholders.
  • Game design/development experience, particularly online/back-end or cloud services.
  • Thought Leadership on envisioning industry patterns and then bringing them to reality through design and code deliverables, technical reports, white papers, or case studies.
  • Experience working within and directing geographically dispersed, diverse, and virtual teams
  • Enjoy travel and be comfortable with regional travel up to 25%
