Position Overview:


The Program Manager, IMP Academy will provide oversight and leadership to multiple departments dedicated to the success of the IMP Academy program. This program will see IMP Aerospace recruit and develop a Cadre of unskilled labour into Airframe Mechanics through a combination of virtual learning, lab work and OJT (on-the-job training). The Program Manager will utilize and promote industry standard Program Management processes and practices to ensure program targets are met. This role will be the primary point of contact for all internal departments with delivery objectives for the program, as well as a key liaison for external program support contacts.

What You Will Do:


  • Program Management oversight and responsibility for multiple internal departments
  • Assist in the development and deployment of a recruitment and selection plan to meet program targets for hiring.
  • Point of Contact for internal departments with service delivery targets and external program supports.
  • Adhere too and promote Industry Standard Program Management processes and techniques
  • Prepare and, as required, update the Program Management Plan (PMP) and subordinate plans to reflect how the Program you are responsible for will operate and how it will be managed
  • Apply effective Risk/Opportunity Management techniques as part of your daily routine and regularly monitor the process and registers of each of your teams for compliance
  • Monitor costs/schedule performance of assigned Program and where necessary initiate corrective action as required to meet budgetary and delivery objectives.
  • Provide oversight in the preparation and distribution of KPI\xe2\x80\x99s, reports and correspondence to internal stakeholders.
  • Liaise with functional managers involved with the resolution of problems, and status of related tasks for assigned projects.
  • Ensure all funding opportunities are sourced and applications submitted.
  • Chair internal and external progress review meetings
  • Monitor incoming message traffic and reports related to Program activities and policies.
  • Be cognizant and have oversight of other project activities outside of your area of responsibility to ensure that by working with the other PMs that company objectives are being met by reducing conflicts in requirements


What You Will Bring:


  • Post Secondary Education \xe2\x80\x93 Aerospace, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Degree would be an asset.
  • Extensive experience in the Aerospace Industry is highly desirable.
  • Advanced Program Management experience in an earned value management (EVM) environment is essential \xe2\x80\x93 must have previous experience managing major programs.
  • Program Management Training/Designation (PMP or equivalent) highly weighted
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written), must have experience chairing meetings \xe2\x80\x93 will be required to chair internal & external customer meetings and interface with customers and or Government executive level personnel.
  • Advanced computer skills with MS Office Suite, including Project.
  • Results Driven.
  • Experienced in and able to apply Risk Management Techniques
  • Good interpersonal skills \xe2\x80\x93 will be required to lead multiple Project teams.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring many personnel across IMP\xe2\x80\x99s matrix organization meet the Program(s) requirements on assigned aircraft.
  • Some travel required in Canada and USA.
  • Must have good problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies. Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities in your area.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
