The North End Women's Centre is looking for a

Program Manager

to guide our Healing & Wellness team, nurture staff and volunteers, and help create spaces where women, two-spirit, and non-binary people can thrive.

North End Women's Centre (Winnipeg, MB)



The Program Manager, Community Healing & Wellness, is a key member of the Leadership Team at the North End Women's Centre. This role provides guidance and supervision to the Counsellors, Parent & Family Support Facilitator, and Family Advocate, and oversees the Centre's Ceremony & Culture initiatives, as well as volunteer and student engagement.

This is a newly created position. The job description will be reviewed within the first year.

Key Responsibilities



Leadership & Human Resources



Provide operational and clinical supervision to program staff. Recruit, hire, mentor, and support staff in consultation with the Director of Programs & Capacity Building. Supervise volunteers and students. Facilitate staff meetings, performance reviews, and professional development planning. Ensure policies and procedures are followed; address grievances as per policy.

Program Management



Plan, implement, and evaluate Healing & Wellness programs and groups. Oversee Ceremony & Culture initiatives, engaging Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and Helpers. Develop program materials, monitor service delivery, and ensure quality standards. Build and maintain relationships with funders; prepare proposals and reports. Lead program evaluation, including data collection and statistical reporting.

Administration & Community Engagement



Maintain accurate participant files and program statistics. Prepare monthly reports for the Director of Programs & Capacity Building. Participate in leadership, staff, and community meetings. Represent the Centre at community events and on relevant committees. Complete other duties as assigned in alignment with the Centre's mission.

Qualifications



Education & Experience



Post-secondary degree or certificate in social services (equivalent experience considered). 2+ years providing operational and clinical supervision. Proven success in HR, program management, and financial oversight. 3+ years' experience in counselling (short-term, long-term, and crisis) and case management. Experience designing and facilitating groups/programs for diverse communities. Community-based work in Winnipeg's North End is an asset. Experience working in cross-functional teams.

Skills & Knowledge



Strong leadership, coordination, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written). Proficiency in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and related tools. Understanding of Indigenous history, traditions, teachings, and barriers faced by two-spirit, women, and non-binary people. Knowledge of trauma-informed care, cultural proficiency, harm reduction, and strength-based approaches. Awareness of community resources related to poverty, homelessness, mental health, substance use, sexual exploitation, and gender-based violence. Proposal writing and program evaluation experience.

Additional Requirements



Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable vehicle (preferred). Satisfactory Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry checks.
