The program facilitator will assist in the daily operations of the center. Priorities will be keeping the center organized and clean, providing support to staff, families, and children. This role involves helping with activities, maintaining a welcoming environment, and ensuring the smooth functioning of programs that promote family well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with cleaning center, setting up and organizing family programs, workshops, and activities.
Provide a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for families and visitors.
Help supervise children during playtime, learning activities, and events.
Support staff in preparing materials, resources, and snacks for programs.
Support staff during baby, toddler, children, youth and/or adult programs.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of play areas, kitchen , community cupboard, office and other common spaces.
Greet and assist families, answering basic questions and providing directions.
Triaging requests and providing detailed messages to proper staff members.
Help with administrative tasks such as organizing materials and filing documents.
Follow center policies around confidentiality and safety procedures to ensure a secure environment that aligns with PACT's code of ethics.
Assist in outreach efforts to engage families in community programs.
Perform other duties as needed to support the overall function of the center.
Qualifications & Skills:
Passion for working with families, children, and community programs.
Friendly, patient, and supportive demeanor.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
Basic organizational and problem-solving skills.
Previous experience in childcare, education, or community services (preferred but not required).
Ability to lift and move light equipment and supplies as needed. (up to 20lbs)
Working Conditions:
May involve standing, lifting, and engaging in physical activities with children. Employees must be flexible with work locations in the Cole Harbour, and Eastern Passage areas.
Job Schedule:
Guaranteed 12 hours per week, scheduled over 3 days from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Opportunity to pick up occasional afternoon or evening shifts as additional hours if needed.
