Key Responsibilities
Public Relations & Community Engagement
Represent Slave Lake Adult Education professionally in all interactions.
Promote awareness of our programs and strengthen our brand identity.
Attend community interagency meetings and build partnerships.
Administrative Leadership
Maintain an organized, welcoming, and efficient office environment.
Respond to inquiries, manage correspondence, and oversee supplies.
Complete CALP reporting, applications, and required documentation.
Assist with special projects and stay informed on CALP Portal updates.
Tutor Program Coordination
Recruit, onboard, and support volunteer tutors.
Welcome new learners and conduct intake appointments.
Manage learner registrations, evaluations, reports, and CALP-required forms.
Prepare and provide learner/tutor materials.
Support accurate CALP database reporting.
Opportunities to tutor or facilitate classes (paid separately).
Course Coordination (CALP & Non-CALP)
Plan course schedules and manage learner registrations.
Hire instructors, prepare contracts, and collect documentation.
Develop and support new course offerings.
Respond to course inquiries and prepare materials.
Facilitation/instruction opportunities available (paid separately).
Baby Book Bag Program
Pack, track, and distribute Baby Book Bags.
Order materials and prepare early literacy resources.
Board Engagement
Prepare monthly activity reports.
Coordinate Board meeting logistics and distribute agendas/minutes.
Support Board orientation, AGM materials, policies, and recruitment.
Financial & Advertising Support
Assist with financial document preparation and filing.
Prepare advertising materials (six weeks in advance of courses).
Write and scan checks as directed by the Financial Administrator.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent oral and written communication.
Strong customer-service mindset with patience and positivity.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Accurate data-entry and database management skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and handle interruptions.
Quick learner with strong retention and attention to detail.
High level of honesty, integrity, and ethical decision-making.
Education & Experience
Diploma or coursework in education, administration, business, computers, or nonprofit management preferred.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Experience in the nonprofit sector is an asset.
