As a Co-ordinator-Physical Security within our Security Management Department, you will be responsible for the administration of physical security programs and services for the protection of Peel Regional Police's employees, facilities and assets and supports operational functions of the Security Management Unit.
What will your typical day look like?
Coordinates and administers the organization's hard key management program including the tracking of door hardware schedules, key cutting/issuance, cores and biting codes. Maintains a hard key management and hardware database. Coordinates and ensures work orders are addressed related to the key management program. Performs audits of the key management system to ensure ongoing compliance.
Maintains physical access for all new hires, transfers and terminations. Captures employee ID photos, prints physical access cards and maintains the card access database.
Coordinates service suppliers and systems by adding new users and removing existing users due to termination or change in job function. Tracks, issues and updates system information including users and codes as required. Coordinates testing, maintenance and repair of systems.
Conducts on-going physical access reviews by producing required card user and area access reports on pre-defined frequencies. Issues access reports to area OIC's for review. Tracks and updates all required changes in the security management system. Maintains appropriate records of reporting and access reviews for audit purposes.
Coordinates and tracks the completion of video surveillance reviews, video retrieval and storage of video surveillance footage.
Coordinates and schedules security management unit service suppliers through the creation, issuance and tracking of work orders for the repair and preventative maintenance of physical security systems and devices.
Maintains and updates the security management unit physical assets database for the tracking of physical security systems, serial numbers, part numbers and spare parts. Maintains and tracks associated warranty periods for all deployed security management unit systems and parts.
Coordinates and schedules Security Management Unit meetings. Documents and tracks actions items and deliverables associated with meetings, as required.
Maintains Security Management Intranet website.
Performs additional duties as assigned.

You are someone with:
A Community College Diploma in Law & Security or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred experience with Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED/CPD) and/or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certifications.
A minimum of two years experience in physical security operations required

What we offer
The salary range for this permanent, full-time position is $53,848.00 to $84,459.00 per annum. Peel Regional Police offers a highly competitive compensation package; applicants will be considered for the top end of the range ($73,902.00 - $84,459.00) based on experience. The salary is complemented with a comprehensive benefit program, including employer-paid Health/Dental and Life Insurance; and the OMERS Pension Plan effective upon hire.
