Position Overview
Reporting to Program Director and under the guidance of the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator position will be responsible for overseeing the coordination of program workplans, goals and objectives as assigned within the Centre for Indigenous Women, Two Spirit and Gender Diversity. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will be required to establish, maintain, and strengthen partnerships and engage in innovative delivery methods.
Key Responsibilities
Overall administration of projects in the Centre for Indigenous Women, Two Spirit and Gender Diversity
Assist with programs and events, enhance existing programs
Educate communities and the public on issues related to Indigenous women and the 2SLGBTQ+ community
Project recording and reporting, including note taking, data collection and analysis
Coordinate participation, travel, logistics and related activities of the project and delivery sites
Coordinate, organize and maintain all records
Maintain and update a master calendar, detailed records of activities, and workplan
Act as a liaison, contact person, and communication for the project
Assist in general office administration tasks
Perform other grant related job-related duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
Completed at least some post-secondary education in Indigenous Studies, Public Administration, Community Development, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered
Minimum 2-3 years' experience managing government contribution agreements
Ability to remain objective while having discussions around sensitive topics such as MMIWG2S+, interpersonal violence, racism, etc.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability and willingness to travel regularly
Valid driver's license required
Assets
Experience working with urban Indigenous communities and organizations
Knowledge of the Friendship Centre Movement
