JOB SUMMARY:




Under the supervision of the Program Manager, or designate, the Program Coordinator will provide direct support to the staff, program and assist managers in achieving program outcomes.

DUTIES:

Program Coordinator duties include the following:

Work with staff to determine eligibility for a record suspension. Oversight of client case management and quality file management Attend informational training and all workshop updates related to Record Suspension Program In Collaboration with the managers, lead meetings with staff and stakeholders Liaise with community partners such as courts, local police and RCMP Support clients and staff in pardons application process and submission. In collaboration with the managers provide provincial onboarding and staff training In collaboration with the managers, ensure compliance with program standards and outcomes Complete administrative tasks including annual program outcome reporting. Proactively soliciting new applicants and community partnerships for these programs, including helping with information campaigns traveling to communities across Saskatchewan to meet with people who need these services. Maintain a client caseload. Answer the phone, direct the phone calls as needed, while ensuring client centered customer service. Provincial Travel as required. Other tasks as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ASSETS:



Working knowledge of the Mission, Vision and Values of the John Howard Society of Saskatchewan. Working knowledge of the characteristics of disadvantaged persons. Working knowledge of Restorative Justice and Harm Reduction practices. Understanding and commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action. Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills. Exceptional writing and case management skills. Strong verbal skills and the ability to communicate professionally. Resourceful, flexible, and well organized. Professional, responsive, and a positive work attitude. Ability to make sound, timely, and accurate judgment while navigating crisis. Ability to work independently. Must maintain a positive relationship with clients, other staff, businesses, and government agencies. Demonstrate empathy for those impacted by the Criminal Justice System.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A combination of the following:

Education



Secondary education from Saskatchewan Polytechnic or Community Colleges, or Bachelor's degree, in a relevant field and 2 year of practical experience.

Practical Experience



Working knowledge and experience with individuals impacted by socio-economic issues, including: homelessness, trauma, addiction, mental health, poverty, and the child welfare system. Working with a range of diverse clients, indiscriminate of: age, gender, sexual orientation, abilities, socio-economic status, religious preference, etc.

Capability



Computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). First Aid, ASIST, Non-violent Crisis Intervention would be considered an asset. Valid Saskatchewan Driver's License, insurable to drive clients in JHSS-owned vehicles. Cleared Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check, dated no later than three (3) months prior to your start date. Requires flexibility and should be able to work varying shifts.
