We are seeking a Program Coordinator to oversee and enhance our Social Recreational program aimed at supporting adults with mental health challenges. This role involves program planning, development, evaluation and implementation and administrative tasks as well as supporting/directing staff to ensure effective service delivery.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and evaluate programs tailored to meet the needs of adults with mental wellness challenges
Manage day-to-day operations of programs, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
Foster relationships with clients and community partners to enhance program effectiveness.
Schedule and direct staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to program activities and participant progress.
Assist in budgeting processes, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to meet program goals.
Conduct regular assessments of program outcomes and make recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications:
Post-Secondary diploma or degree in a related field (Recreational Therapy, Social Service Worker or other)
Administrative experience
Basic understanding of the role of therapeutic recreation and its principles
Team leads or supervisory experience an asset.
Strong knowledge of issues related to mental illness.
Knowledge of relevant legislation (Mental Health Act, PHIPA, public health standards, fire regulations, safe food handling)
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Strong computer skills including MS office suite and client data bases.
Able to cope with substantial workload and meet program deadlines.
Excellent and accurate written and verbal communications skills
Valid driver's license and reliable car required, 3 years commercial driving experience an asset.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
Eligible to work in Canada.
Proficiency in both official languages an asset
