Manitoulin Northshore Victim Services provides immediate crisis response, intervention and prevention services which are responsive to the needs of individuals, families and communities affected by crime and tragic circumstances.
Position Requirements:
Immediate response, intervention and prevention to calls for support of those experiencing victimization through crime or tragic circumstance
Education/experience in office administration, social sciences and/or related field, an asset
Mature, responsible, and superb organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability or experience dealing with crisis situations
Knowledgeable of office procedures
Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database software
High attention to detail and demonstrated accuracy in work
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, in close quarters, in a policing environment
Flexible hours - willing to work some evenings and weekends
Bilingual (French/English), an asset
Completion of 40-hour Victim Services training, will be required
Primary Functions:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the position will provide administration and coordination of programs delivered by Manitoulin Northshore Victim Services
Oversee Volunteer program, including recruitment, retention, and recognition events
Supervise Team Leaders, along with front-line first responders
Oversee Mobile Tracking System Program, including information sharing to community partners
Monitoring participants to ensure all information is up to date and devices are in working order
Oversee Project Lifesaver program, including information sharing to community partners and caregivers
Assigning volunteers to participants of Project Lifesaver
Ensure all documentation is completed and kept on file for all programs
Respond directly to requests for support and assistance
Receive referrals for direct follow up
Share in providing after-hours support
The successful candidate will require a thorough knowledge of social services and victimization issues, in addition to relevant experience/education in assisting a volunteer team and crisis intervention work. This position requires a criminal reference check, a valid driver's license, and access to a vehicle.
