Working for the Indigenous Programming and Research Portfolio
With the goal to ensure that the University of Alberta is a welcoming and safe environment for Indigenous students, staff, faculty and community members and that programs and strategies reflect the institutional commitment to engaging Indigenous perspectives, the Indigenous Programming and Research Portfolio was established in the Office of the Provost & Vice-President (Academic) to facilitate institutional collaboration and communication to support the development and implementation of programs, services and initiatives related to Indigenous engagement. Are you passionate about supporting and contributing to meaningful community-based work? The University of Alberta invites applications for a Program Assistant to provide administrative and financial support to the Supporting Indigenous Language Revitalization (SILR) project, funded through the BHP Foundation Grant and the Indigenous Entrepreneurship Pathways Project (IEPP), funded by the Walmart Foundation.
The Program Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day financial and operational administration of the SILR and IEPP. This includes coordination of communications, program logistics, reporting, and financial transactions, in alignment with university policies and funding requirements. The position also provides direct administrative support to the Executive Director and acts as a first point of contact for the program.
