At Community Care Durham (CCD), coordinated networks of volunteers and inter-professional staff, working out of integrated community hubs and other locations, strive to enrich the well-being and quality of life for people wherever they choose to call home. As the largest community support services agency in Durham Region, CCD collaborates with its partners and the broader community to address community issues and support local citizens to achieve their goals to live independently.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Assistant supports the daily delivery of services through coordination of Assisted Living, Respite, and Supportive Housing programs, carries out essential administrative tasks, and actively contributes to the success of the Community Care Durham team.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Maintains and updates electronic files on CCD database including reference and resource material;
Acts as point of contact between Office and Field staff, and Clients and Office Staff;
Creates and updates Program Forms and Database (program user guides, and trackers).
Liaises with various offices in the coordination of service provision;
Communicates with clients (i.e., scheduling, billing concerns, general questions, and receiving messages).
Assists client facing staff with database issues (scheduling, communication between office staff and field staff)
Point of contact to provide basic IT support and resolve issues (RingCentral and Alayacare support);
Participates in Training / In-Service Coordination;
Promotes Community Care Durham's services; works within the team to support all services; assisting with Program/Community Care Durham initiatives;
Monitors Program staff hours of work and corresponds with management;
Maintains office supplies and inventory;
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications required:
Post-secondary diploma in a related field such as office administration, human services, gerontology or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the position
1 Year experience in Computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
1 Year experience in Office Administration
Good working knowledge of the principles of community support services including community, mental health and gerontology, volunteer management, and scheduling
Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
Ability to work as a team player
Possession of a valid Ontario "G" or "G2" driver's license
Reliable vehicle and ability to travel within Durham Region
Sensitivity to the needs of the vulnerable population with disabilities, including challenges in cognition
Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Must work in a safe manner and promote the health and safety of all staff, volunteers, clients and the community as outlined within CCD policies
Compensation:
Starting at $34,000 annually; three (3) weeks' vacation per year of work (pro-rated to hours worked); 9 paid (including stat) holidays, 3 float days; health, insurance, and pension benefits when eligible.
Pay will be commensurate based on education and experience
