Position Summary

L'Arche Calgary is seeking a compassionate and committed

Day Program Assistant

to join our Day Program team on a

12-month maternity leave replacement

. This role involves providing direct support to adults with developmental disabilities, including assistance with daily living skills, participation in recreational activities, and support in achieving personal goals.


The successful candidate will work collaboratively with team members, families, and other professionals to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all participants. This position is

32.5 hours per week

.

Key Responsibilities

Provide personal care, support daily routines, and assist with mobility needs. Implement individualized plans, including Behaviour Support Plans. Facilitate recreational, artistic, therapeutic, and leisure activities. Support day program operations, including record-keeping, petty cash management, and special events. Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Foster positive relationships and support the social, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being of participants.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree or diploma in Community Rehabilitation, Disability Studies, or a related field. Previous experience working with persons with disabilities is an asset. Valid First Aid and CPR certification. Full Class 5 Driver's Licence (non-GDL). Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook. Satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.

Compensation

$20.04 - $21.28 per hour
