The MSc in Applied Computing (MScAC) program is one of the most unique graduate programs in the world. Reporting to the Associate Director, MScAC Administration, and under the day-to-day supervision of the Program Manager, MScAC, the MScAC Program Assistant is part of a critical front-line team, focused on graduate program administration and student support. Within a highly professional, collaborative and supportive group, the MScAC Program Assistant focuses on tasks related to the execution of admissions and recruitment strategies, student support, and general program administration.



Your responsibilities will include:



Providing detailed information to students on program and/or course requirements Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate Scheduling appointments for prospective students, applicants, and current students to address individual needs Liaising with students and faculty to coordinate program activities Delivering presentations to promote programs, opportunities and/or initiatives Reviewing and assessing admissions applications Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming Updating and maintaining records

Essential Qualifications:



Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience. Minimum two years recent and relevant experience in a stakeholder-facing role focused on providing support with graduate admissions, providing program and course information, and supporting students through an academic program. Excellent front-line skills for communicating in-person, by phone, and email with a range of stakeholders, including international and domestic prospective/existing students, program industry partners, and academic faculty Experience in supporting and representing graduate programs at internal/external recruitment-related events Experience administering student-related process and policies in an academic environment, with proven experience in screening prospective candidates for eligibility for academic programs Experience reviewing documents/applications and checking for completeness Knowledge of and experience with graduate or similar related policies and procedures Experience organizing logistics of events/meetings with the ability to perform set up and close off Experience working with databases and preparing/analyzing statistical reports Exceptional ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing across diverse audiences Meticulous attention to detail and record keeping Superior organizational skills and advanced diagnostics and data handling skills Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and meet customer service standards at peak times Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to relate to all levels of faculty, staff and students in a manner which facilitates cooperation Advanced skills with MS Office, as well as with ROSI, Slate, and related student information systems

Assets (Nonessential):



Knowledge and working experience with professional programs, preferably those in Computer Science or a related field.
