We are seeking a dedicated and organized Program Assistant to support program staff in the preparation and delivery of regular drop-in early childhood and family programs for children ages 0-6 and their caregivers, as well as other seasonal and outreach programs.
Programs are delivered across Drayton Valley, Breton, Buck Creek, Buck Lake, Easyford, and surrounding rural areas.
Responsibilities
Develop supply lists; prepare crafts, activities, and materials for all scheduled programs as required.
Deliver engaging, age-appropriate, and educational programming in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Transport program materials and equipment to and from delivery sites as required.
Manage administrative duties such as filing, correspondence, and record keeping
Set up and dismantle program spaces in a safe and organized manner.
Maintain a positive, respectful atmosphere that promotes caregiver and child participation.
Communicate regularly with the Program Manager and Program Coordinator & Planner to review programming needs, successes, and challenges.
Collaborate effectively with organizational staff to ensure program consistency and innovation.
Build and maintain positive relationships with caregivers, children, and community partners.
Qualifications
Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Development or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in family support or early learning.
Experience in early childhood education, family resource programs, or community-based service delivery.
Current First Aid and CPR certification (equivalent to St. John's Emergency First Aid) or obtained within 3 months of hire.
Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance.
Working knowledge of community and family resource supports.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent time management and flexibility to adapt to changing program needs.
