Digital Skills for Seniors is a program that supports older adults in learning basic and advanced digital literacy skills to address multiple barriers to aging at home - by bridging the gap in technology. Training workshops empower seniors in adapting to technology, which supports them in aging at home by giving them the ability to access virtual health resources and remain connected to family and friends.
The Program Assistant is responsible for supporting all project activities, including administration and accounting support to project staff. This includes monitoring project needs, responding to inquiries and providing support in all aspects of project development.
Duties and Responsibilities
meets regularly with Program Coordinator to assess project needs;
maintains and processes supports for cohorts, including meeting (zoom/in-person room) set-up, tracking client needs and helping to keep a record of attendance;
facilitates training for seniors, providing them with basic training on computer literacy;
organizes and facilitates engagement sessions for seniors, keeping them engaged and providing them with varied learning experiences, to combat social isolation;
assists in correspondence with clients (senior citizens) after sessions;
reaches out to organizations serving seniors and explore partnership opportunities;
monitors and analyzes all expenditure invoices and reports;
uses promotional marketing tools as needed i.e., social media to invite registrations for upcoming cohorts; and
replenishes and takes inventory of office supplies for the project.
Qualifications & Experience
degree in a related discipline; or the equivalent of education, training, experience and certification;
knowledge of design programs is an asset;
minimum 2 years' experience in office administration;
extensive computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office;
advanced computer and technological skills;
proven experience developing productive, professional relationships with clients and
employers;
ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
ability to instruct and facilitate workshops;
ability to analyse and problem-solve with excellent decision-making and multi-tasking skills;
knowledge of adult learning techniques, gerontology, and aging will be an asset; and
excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

valid drivers' license and access to suitable vehicle is an asset; and
negative criminal record check
