Position Summary:

Fairview Senior's Community is recruiting a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to join our Long-Term Care Program Team. As we build a community for all, this position assists in supporting the vibrant program department by implementing innovative activities and programs to provide meaningful independence, social inclusion, a sense of belonging and contribution for seniors in the Fairview community.

Assets and Qualifications:



Degree/Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation/ Recreation & Leisure/ related field CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) Certification an asset Creativity and enthusiasm to take risks, share new innovative ideas and overall enhance the offerings of our program team. Energetic, adaptable individual with the ability to organize multiple people and projects Experience working with seniors with complex, age-related diseases and/or mental health concerns Positive outlook with a genuine interest in providing enriching recreation opportunities to this population. Self-motivated exemplifying attention to detail, organization and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to enhance our growing team Current Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector component required Current TB skin test or ability to obtain

Position Specific Responsibilities:

include, but are not limited to, the following:

Takes ownership of programing by understanding the needs of residents. Participates in the evaluation of the effectiveness programming and services in relation to individuals and the resident population as a whole, recognizing what has gone well and acting towards necessary improvements. Works as part of the program team to plan and implement programs of varied and meaningful purpose that contribute to resident goals. Meets daily/weekly/monthly with the Program Coordinator to review resident participation, new admissions and overall program direction. Encourages physical, emotional, spiritual, social and cognitive growth for residents. Maintains program documentation including admissions, ongoing participation, care planning (including RAI MDS-Raps, Coding and Activities Assessments)

Role Information:

Full-time hours 75 hours bi-weekly

This position includes day, evening and/or weekend work as well as statutory holidays.

Staff are required to be vaccinated against covid-19 and provide proof of vaccination in accordance with the homes policy
