Position Title: Professor, Health Sector Regulatory Compliance

Status: Full-Time Academic

Faculty/Department: Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellness

Campus/Location: North Campus

Salary: Academic starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience as detailed in the collective agreement for academic employees.

What you will do:

The successful candidate will be required to teach a variety of courses in the Health Sector Regulatory Compliance program at the North campus. Subject areas may include audit, inspection, compliance business communications, risk management, business processes and operation, occupational health and safety, ethics in compliance, project management, and abilities management. The successful candidate will be a champion of interprofessional education and practice.

The incumbent will teach, develop curriculum, design/revise specific courses, create an effective and innovative learning environment for our students, assess student progress and achievement; work collaboratively with colleagues, participate in committees and related associations. Teaching will be assigned at both the North and Lakeshore campuses and may include teaching at the International Graduate School (Toronto).

In addition to the professorial role, the successful candidate will have a reduced teaching load and will be responsible for the coordination of the day-to-day operation of the program. Responsibilities may include: ensuring continued growth and development of the existing programs as assigned; using a participatory mode; the selection and development of appropriate learning methodologies; recommending curriculum changes or modifications as appropriate; participating in the Program Advisory Committee; providing advice to management with regards to course staffing and development; developing and maintaining industry connections as relevant to the Health Sector Regulatory Compliance program.

Qualifications

What you bring to the role:

The successful candidate will have a relevant Master's degree (preference given to PhDs), and a minimum of 5 years related experience including 3 years of teaching experience. They will hold relevant certification in compliance or quality assurance.

In addition, the successful candidate will have engaging and effective teaching skills, demonstrated ability to coach and support students, demonstrated experience managing classroom dynamics, strong knowledge and application of current andragogical principles, a student focused approach and a demonstrated commitment to fostering innovation and positive change. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of principles of equity and inclusion, be a collaborative team player and be committed to a positive team culture. The successful candidate will possess well developed interpersonal communication and problem solving skills and have demonstrated ability to contribute positively to curriculum development and delivery.
