We strive to find and nurture extraordinary employees who bring their best each day.If you are interested in working in higher education and are looking to contribute to the largest polytechnic College in Ontario, as we shape the future of our students and communities, here is your opportunity to join our team.Job DetailsPosition Title: Professor \xe2\x80\x93 Accounting, Finance and EconomicsStatus: Full Time AcademicFaculty/Department: Longo Faculty of BusinessCampus/Location: North Campus (Primary) Lakeshore Campus/IGS Campus (Secondary)Salary: Academic starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience as detailed in the collective agreement for academic employeesWhat you will do:Under the direction of the Associate Dean, the successful candidate will teach a range of accounting, finance and economics courses at the advanced levels in the diploma, and post-graduate programs. Emphasis will be placed on candidates that have experience with audit and assurance.The incumbent will teach, develop curriculum, design/revise specific courses, create an effective and innovative learning environment for our students, assess student progress and achievement; work collaboratively with colleagues, participate in committees and related associations. Teaching could be assigned at the North, Lakeshore, and International Graduate School campuses.The incumbent will also support student advising, student recruitment, graduate placement, assist with the promotion and marketing of programs and develop and maintain strong industry ties, with an emphasis on supporting the Program Coordinator. A business focus and team approach are stressed.QualificationsWhat you bring to the role:Education:The successful candidate will hold an MBA or relevant MA/DBA/PhD and an Accounting DesignationExperience

  • Minimum seven years relevant industry experience
  • Minimum two years successful teaching experience, preferably at the postsecondary level
  • Industry acumen and experience are required along with a demonstrated ability to teach a number of courses offered by the Longo Faculty of Busines

  • The successful candidate will have engaged and effective teaching skills, demonstrated ability to coach and support students, demonstrated experience managing classroom dynamics, strong knowledge and application of current pedagogical principles, a student focused approach and a demonstrated commitment to fostering innovation and positive change.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of principles of equity and inclusion, be a collaborative team player and be committed to a positive team culture.
  • Possess well developed interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills and have demonstrated ability to contribute positively to curriculum development and delivery.
  • Demonstrated initiative, strong written and oral communication skills with a high degree of attention and focus to detail.
