Based in Burlington, ON, MMC also has offices in Thunder Bay, London and Brantford and a linens facility in Hamilton. We are currently recruiting for a full-time Position here to support our Linens team. Position Overview Job Summary:

  • Accomplishes production objectives by planning utilization of staff, equipment and other resources; communicating job expectations, monitoring and appraising job results, and coaching, counselling and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating and enforcing process control systems, policies and procedures.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training and evaluation of employees; develop employee skills and ability to contribute to MHLS; engage staff in new initiatives; provide regular staff communications for awareness and to encourage safety performance.
  • Implement process improvements and cost reductions.
  • Ensure administrative records are maintained accurately.
  • Perform regular quality audits and assigned safety duties. Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between all staff and all departments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve production key performance indicators through scheduling, assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems and reporting processing flow through shift summaries and tie offs. Assess individual performance of staff, coach and recognize as appropriate.
  • Safety: enforce requirements of Ontario OH&SA and MSS Safety Policies and Procedures; ensure readiness to activate Emergency Response Plan; ensure proper and timely medical treatment for any injured employee, and participate in the Early &Safe Return to Work program; complete investigations, inspections and associated documentation as required; make recommendations for improvement and participate in/support JH&SC, Ergo committee, etc.
  • Interview, select, train and evaluate new employees. Provide new/refresher SOP training to employees. Participate in the development and approval of SPD\xe2\x80\x99s.
  • Ensure fair and consistent treatment of employees, as per requirements of the collective agreement and MVV. Deliver regular communication sessions. Engage employees in planning and implementation of new processes. Perform administrative duties including payroll and vacation/LOA approvals.
  • Customer Relations: participate in meetings and regular communications with customer service reps to provide customers with requested service levels. Communicate directly with customers to respond to urgent requests and/or new product introductions. Communicate with suppliers and service technicians on selected equipment and supplies.
  • Project Management/Continuous Improvement: participate in the introduction of new processes and/or services, in multidisciplinary project teams or informal group activity.
  • Oversee quality output of assigned work area, perform quality audits and develop corrective action as required; recommend actions to improve quality process.
  • Control inventory on designated plant supplies; place purchase order requisitions as justified, monitor plant usage and supplier performance; control inventory level within agreed min/max; make budget recommendations on plant supplies.

Qualifications and Skills \xc2\xb7 Grade 12 or equivalent \xc2\xb7 3+ years\xe2\x80\x99 supervisory experience in a related field in a unionized environment \xc2\xb7 Written and oral proficiency in English \xc2\xb7 Certifications in WSIB Level 1 & 2, First Aid/CPR Technical requirements:
  • Knowledge of wash process and chemicals
  • Knowledge of sterilization techniques and CSA standards relevant to laundry process, linen and sterilization process
  • Microsoft Office basic to intermediate level
