Position Overview:



The Production Supervisor ( Heat Treater) is a hands-on leadership role responsible for heat treating production, processing work orders, leading by example, organizing workflow, supporting team (heat treat, carburizing, annealing, hardening) at the Ajax facility. This position focuses on optimizing production throughput, maintaining quality and efficiency, and fostering the development of operators into skilled heat treaters.

The Production Supervisoor will lead by example, ensuring adherence to quality standards, efficient workflows, and safe practices. This role requires flexibility to work on and lead any of the three shifts and involves mentoring and training teams across facilities in advanced heat-treating techniques, equipment operation, and quality processes.

Key Responsibilities:



Production Leadership:



Lead by example at the Ajax facility, prioritizing and optimizing workflows to maximize throughput and efficiency. Serve as a hands-on leader, actively participating in production activities and setting a strong example for the team. Ensure production schedules are met, maintaining alignment with customer delivery commitments.

Training and Mentorship:



Teach and train operators in advanced heat-treating processes, including vacuum, Annealing, stress relieving, ARCOR, nitriding, black oxide, and other specialized treatments. Mentor operators and supervisors to develop skills in equipment operation, quality assurance, and efficient production practices. Work closely with the Southwest/Niagara facility to transfer knowledge, build competencies, and align operational standards.

Quality Assurance:



Ensure all production processes meet or exceed quality standards and customer specifications. Collaborate with the Director of Quality Assurance, Metallurgy & Production Efficiency to address quality challenges, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct root cause analyses for non-conformances and implement preventive measures. Verify order part quantities and ensure

Process Optimization:



Identify opportunities to improve production processes and workflows, implementing solutions to reduce waste, improve throughput, and enhance efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement LEAN manufacturing practices.

Safety and Compliance:



Maintain a safe work environment, ensuring adherence to all health, safety, and environmental policies. Promote a zero-incident safety culture, taking proactive measures to prevent workplace injuries. Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO standards, CQI-9, controlled goods, and other applicable regulations.

Collaboration and Advisory Role:



Work closely with management, Director of Quality Assurance, and other supervisors to align production objectives with company goals. Support sales and new customer production launches by ensuring seamless integration, quality control, and efficient processes during pilot and launch phases.

Enhance operational standards at the Ajax facility through training, mentorship, and continuous improvements. Deliver measurable improvements in production efficiency, quality, and safety in Ajax facility. Collaborate effectively with sales and cross-functional teams to win new business and deliver successful customer production launches.
Minimum 2 years heat treating experience and 1 year supervising heat treating operations is required. This role is essential to Atlantic Heat Treating's operational success, ensuring the company continues to deliver exceptional quality and service while driving efficiency, team development, and customer satisfaction across its facilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
