Job Description

KPS INDUSTRIES INC. is a full-service Alberta based industrial equipment packager and manufacturer providing engineering, design, fabrication and completion of vessel separator packages, filter vessel and filtration packages, thermal heat transfer packages, pump packaging solutions, and other pressure equipment packages used primarily in the Western Canadian Energy Sector.

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and experienced PRODUCTION SHOP MANAGER to join our team at our office and manufacturing facility located just outside of Airdrie, Alberta.

This position requires an individual who has Leadership and Supervisory experience of approximately 3-5 years in a packaging production shop environment as well as 5-10 years in the Alberta Regulated Trade of Millwright, Instrumentation Technician, Steamfitter-Pipefitter or B Pressure Welder. The responsibilities of this position include managing all trades and coordination of subtrades required for the manufactured builds, participating and creating shop loading schedules, determining trades and manpower requirements, managing the Receiving of equipment and materials, interpreting design drawings for the fabrication of components and complete package mechanical assembly with knowledge & experience with pumps assembly and alignment. Experience with ASME Construction Codes such as B31.3, Section VIII, I, IV, CSA 47.1 and having worked with ABSA Quality Manual Systems and general knowledge of all fabrication and packaging disciplines, such as instrumentation and tubing, coatings and internal coatings, insulation, electrical, self-framing building installations.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leading the shop manufacturing employees & subtrades workforce in a production based environment.
• New employee selection & management, including orientation, training, supervision.
• Assign work to team members. Supervise progress regarding assigned expectations and accountability for quality of work and timelines.
• Involved with supporting our HSE Program ensuring compliance for a Safe Work Environment with Daily Safety ToolBox Meetings and Monthly General Safety Meetings, assisting in SWP, SJP development and training of workers, promoting a Safe Work environment.
• Meeting and working with Project Management Team, Engineering & Procurement assisting in development of fabrication schedules & production requirements.
• Receive and Inspect equipment, materials and components and manage the Receiving function.
• Assist in managing ASME code fabrication / hydrostatic / pneumatic testing / NDE completions as our QMS, Quality Manager and Inspectors direction.
• Ability to interpret P&ID, GA drawings and fabrication level detailed drawings for components of structural, piping, vessels, heaters, tanks, filters etc. optimizing and organizing production.
• Operate overhead cranes, rigging and other materials handling equipment if required.

• Ability to adapt to change in job scope and have good organizational skill.
